Job Vacancy: Technical Sales Lead

About This Role

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the successful candidate will be a key member of the Sales team and significantly contribute to Trojan Energy’s domestic and global growth.

Remote working is applicable to this position and the successful candidate will be required to travel to installation sites and customer premises throughout the UK and globally as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • In your role as a Technical Sales Lead, you will work closely with the Sales and Operations teams, as well as external stakeholders such as local authorities, highways authorities, planning officers, strategic partners, DNOs, subcontractors, customers, and central government stakeholders to support the growth of our on-street residential charging network.
  • You will develop and generate leads directly with local councils with particular focus in London and South East, but also nationally across UK, providing technical input for key stakeholders in forming approaches and proposals (internal/external).
  • You will build relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers within councils to progress initial introductions through to sales.
  • Working closely with our Head of Business Development to design and develop sales strategies and processes.
  • You will work closely with local councils to identify tender opportunities and will support our Bid Manager with technical queries and content in order to produce high quality tender submissions and secure winning bids.
  • Assisting with pre-sales support in the form of technical surveys, geospatial analysis, training and demonstrations of product to external stakeholders.
  • Support the sales process as the ‘Go-To- for technical aspects and queries from internal/external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A proven sales track record ideally within the EV sector or adjacent industry.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and develop long-term, strategic partnerships with local councils.
  • Ideally you will be from the industry and have previous experience scoping, quoting and selling on-street EV charging solutions to local councils or in a business-to-business (B2B) or business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) capacity.
  • You will bring a consultative approach to sales, with strong negotiation skills and experience navigating public sector procurement processes.
  • You will be familiar with the systems, processes, and procedures of councils and how they operate.
  • Ideally having a science/engineering background, degree qualified or with relevant experience across civil or electrical engineering.
  • A solid understanding of the technical aspects related to installing on-street residential charging solutions, including familiarity with mapping, pricing impacts arising from the built environment that you will apply to our unique solutions
