We’ve seen the future of EV charging. Now it’s your turn

Home charging. On the street!
We’re simplifying EV charging so you can access home energy tariffs, even without a driveway.
Trojan AON gives you all the benefits of home charging, with the convenience and flexibility of on-street access.
Powered by smart tech, low prices, and a fairer charging experience.
-
A charger outside your front door
When you sign up to Trojan AON, we install a charge point on your street, outside your property. It’s part of our wider on-street network, but it’s placed specifically for your convenience.
-
No up-front costs
We work in partnership with your local council to organise planning permission and fully fund the installation of charge points. That means no upfront payment from you.
-
Pay your home energy rate – across our network
Your subscription connects you to your home electricity tariff, so you’ll pay the lowest energy cost whenever you charge at this charge point, and any other charger in our network!
-
Seamless billing with plug and play
Just connect your adaptor and charging starts automatically. No screens, cards or codes. Usage is tracked, payments are automatic, and everything is transparent.
Trojan AON Costs
We install a charge point directly outside your home, connected to your own electricity supply – giving you the most convenient access to on-street charging.
The charger is part of our public Trojan Energy network, meaning other Trojan customers can use it too.
Only you benefit from the low-cost, home-connected energy tariff – even when charging elsewhere on the Trojan network.
- No upfront costs
- £50 monthly subscription
- Price guaranteed for 3 years
- Fully managed service & maintenance
- Home tariff

What to expect during the sign up process:
Step 1
Complete the form at the top of this page.
We collect some basic details before you begin the sign up process.
Step 2
Verify your email and create an account.
We'll send you an email with a link to verify your email address and create an account to start the sign up process.
Step 3
Perform a brief property survey with a smartphone.
This helps us understand if your home is suitable for AON. If you don't have a phone or don't want to, we can organise for an engineer to carry this out.
Step 4
Sync your energy tariff.
This allows us to seamlessly charge you the correct rates. You'll need your energy supplier account login details.
Step 5
Select your preferences.
You can vary the times of day/night that charging starts to benefit from off-peak rates.
Step 6
Add payment details.
Connect your card and pay the first month's fee of £50. This will be reimbursed if the installation doesn't go ahead.
Step 7
We'll be in touch!
Installation typically takes around 8 weeks from council approval. We'll contact you 2 weeks before to guide you through the cross pavement grant process.
How does charge point sharing work?
With Trojan Energy’s shared charging network, you get smarter, more affordable charging, without compromise.
As an AON host, you gain access to all Trojan Energy charge points, charged at your home tariff. That means if the charge point outside your home is in use, you can simply connect to another one nearby. We install multiple charge points in each area to make sure there’s always flexibility.
In return, the charge point outside your home becomes part of the shared network, available for other Trojan Energy users when it’s free. You’ll stay fully informed as the app shows when it’s in use, and any energy used by others is automatically reimbursed, so there’s no cost to you.
By sharing, we can offer you a home-connected charge point at a more affordable rate, while giving you more freedom in how and where you charge.
Got a question? We’ve got the answer
-
AONs are shared for three key reasons: flexibility, planning approval, and cost.
Flexibility
If the charger outside your home is blocked, you can use another nearby AON or any Trojan Hub charger. You’ll always pay your home rate, as low as 5p per kWh – thanks to smart roaming. This only works if all AONs are shared.Planning approval
Because AONs are shared with others in your community, they’re easier for councils to approve than private-use chargers. That means faster installations and less red tape.Cost
Sharing keeps costs down and gives you access to a much lower monthly subscription, helping you save up to 50% compared to public charging. -
Payment
When you sign up, we ask you to sync your tariff by logging into your energy supplier account. This is a simple process, but you will need your energy supplier account login details ready.
When someone uses the AON outside your home, we match the session to your tariff, add 5% VAT, and reimburse you. We cover all fees, so whilst you will see this usage on your electricity bill, you’re never out of pocket.
And when you use another Trojan charger, you still pay your own home rate.
Sharing with another user
The AON installed outside your home is part of our public Trojan Energy network, meaning other Trojan customers, who will be provided with their own adaptor, can use it too on a PAYG basis.
However, as an AON Host and subscriber, you’ll benefit from the low-cost, home-connected energy tariff with no markup.
-
At the moment, Trojan AON is only offered on a sharing basis, as this allows for lower subscription rates and provides opportunities for you to use other AONs on the Trojan network if the parking spot outside your home is taken. However, if sharing doesn’t suit you, then using a neighbour’s AON as a PAYG user will allow you to benefit from highly competitive on-street charging costs compared with public charging.
-
By linking with your energy supplier, we stay synced with your real-time tariff, even if it changes throughout the day, as some dynamic tariffs do. This, combined with accurate meter data, means we know exactly how much electricity was used, how much it cost and how much to reimburse.
During signup, you choose a monthly reimbursement date – you can change this date at any time. Each month, we total up usage done by other users on the AON outside your home and reimburse you on that date.
-
Because councils don’t allow any one resident to have priority when it comes to on-street parking, you won’t get priority parking or a dedicated bay once your charger is installed. That said, the charger is installed at your convenience, outside your home. So, you’re more likely to find it available than others. As AONs are shared, you’ll also be able to charge using any other AONs installed on the street or anywhere on the Trojan network and enjoy your same home tariff.
-
At the end of the initial period, you will have the opportunity to stay on subscription, which will auto-renew on a month-by-month basis, opt for PAYG or terminate your contract. At the end of the initial term, we may change the subscription rate, but you will be notified of these changes well in advance, allowing you to opt for the option that suits you best.
-
It is expected that an AON will be shared. The 5-year connection period allows for others in the community to continue to use the AON on a PAYG basis, so even if the AON no longer suits your needs and you decide to terminate your contract, it can still be used by others. This won’t cost you anything and will help provide a very valuable service to your community.
