Trojan Energy is proud to announce a major partnership with the London Borough of Bexley to deliver more than 70 on-street electric vehicle (EV) charging points, helping residents without driveways charge their EVs conveniently and equitably.

This innovative project is funded by the Government’s On-Street Residential ChargePoint Scheme (ORCS) and marks a major step forward in Bexley’s journey toward net-zero, one that puts inclusivity, accessibility, and community needs at its heart.

Purpose-built for those without driveways, Trojan Energy’s flat-and-flush charge points maintain full pavement accessibility while delivering reliable, high-speed charging right at the kerbside.

When needed, residents simply connect their personal charging adaptor to access up to 22kW charging, bringing near-home and outside home charging to residents safely and easily.

Trojan Energy’s charging system has been designed with safety and accessibility at its core. When not in use, the charge points sit completely flat and flush with the pavement, removing any trip hazards and keeping walkways fully accessible. When in operation, visibility is enhanced through multiple lighting features: a light on the charging socket illuminates, including the full circumference of the charging adaptor handle, along with a built-in light on the car’s charging socket. These visual cues ensure the system is easy to see and navigate, even in low light, supporting safe and intuitive use for all pedestrians.

Ian Mackenzie, CEO of Trojan Energy, said:

“We’re proud to work alongside Bexley Council to bring our clutter-free charging technology to communities across the borough. Our mission is to make the EV transition achievable for everyone, and this collaboration reflects a shared commitment to inclusive, future-focused transport.”

Trojan Energy has worked closely with Bexley to identify priority streets and engage local communities on the rollout. The partnership represents a scalable, street-friendly blueprint for sustainable charging infrastructure that other local authorities across the UK can follow.

Councillor Peter Craske, Bexley’s Cabinet Member for Places, said:

“We’re committed to making electric vehicle ownership viable for everyone – not just those with driveways. These new Trojan charging points mean residents can charge their EVs easily and safely, helping us all move toward a cleaner, greener borough.”

This deployment is part of Trojan Energy’s wider mission to ensure fair access to EV charging for the ~40% of UK households without off-street parking. By delivering high-capacity, on-street chargers where they’re needed most, they’re helping to accelerate inclusive EV adoption across the UK.
