Trojan Energy and Harrow Council Partner to Deliver Innovative On-Street EV Charging
First Published:

New partnership brings 100 clutter-free Electric Vehicle (EV) charge points to the streets of Harrow. Trojan Energy is proud to announce a new partnership with the London Borough of Harrow, which will see 100 innovative on-street EV charge points installed across the borough. This ambitious rollout marks a key step in Harrow Council’s efforts to promote cleaner transport and meet its climate commitments and reflects Trojan Energy’s mission to ensure no one is left behind in the transition to electric vehicles.
The rollout – funded through the Government’s On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme (ORCS) – has begun and will deliver a transformative boost to the borough’s EV infrastructure, making it easier for residents without driveways to conveniently charge their cars closer to home.
Trojan Energy’s unique charging technology is designed to sit flat-and-flush in the pavement and remain hidden when not in use, eliminating street clutter and ensuring full access for all pavement users. With fast charging up to 22kW and a simple plug-and-play experience using a personal adaptor, users can expect an effortless charging experience.
Cllr Ashton, Cabinet Member for Finance and Highways, said:
“This will be welcoming news for residents. Not everyone has a driveway, so this is significant infrastructure that will help those charge their car near their home. It’s great for the environment, great for sustainable travel and doesn’t clutter the streets. “This is one of many ways we are putting residents first, by making it easier for those thinking about switching to electric or hybrid.”
Trojan Energy commends Harrow Council for its forward-thinking approach to transport decarbonisation and its commitment to ensuring that all residents can access the benefits of the EV revolution.
Ian Mackenzie, CEO of Trojan Energy, said:
“We’re pleased to be partnering with Harrow Council to deliver our clutter-free on-street EV charging to more residents. At Trojan Energy, our mission is to ensure everyone can benefit from the transition to electric vehicles, particularly those without access to off-street parking. This collaboration marks another meaningful step towards making reliable, accessible charging a standard feature of streets across the UK.”
The first installations began at the beginning of April 2025, with the full programme due to complete later in the year. The project will create a real and lasting impact for Harrow’s communities, supporting both climate goals and everyday convenience for EV drivers.
